This morning twenty five year old salesman Robert Taylor, the man accused of killing twenty six year old labourer Leslie Gentle Jr. was discharged from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. But instead of going home, the police escorted Taylor over to the Belize City Magistrate Court.

Following his arraignment, Robert Taylor was taken to the Hattieville Prison where he will remain on remand until his hext court date on august eight. According to police, Robert Taylor stabbed Leslie Gentle Jr. because of an old beef, a misunderstanding between the two young men. On Thursday, the victim’s father Leslie Gentle Sr. told 7NEWS that the argument was over cellphones that he claims Taylor had stolen, while blaming his son for the robbery. Reports are that around three on Wednesday evening while Leslie Gentle was onboard a bus by the Esso Gas Station on Cemetery Road he saw Robert Taylor, confronted him and started to beat him.

Witnesses claim that after Taylor managed to get away, he threatened to return and kill Gentle. Shortly after, Taylor returned, armed with a knife that he used to inflict at least ten stab wounds to Gentle’s midsection. Gentle was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but died the following morning.

Taylor, who received a single cut wound to his hand, was hospitalized until his release this morning. In court Taylor was read a single charge of murder, denied bail and remanded until August 8th.
