Corozal and Mexican Police have not found the person who shot and killed Mennonite Belizean contractor Wilhelm Braun at the SP 2000 construction site situated inside the Corozal Free Zone. However a recent discovery may provide police with information that can help investigators. Seven days ago three Belizean passports and one Mexican passport were discovered by a tree in some high bushes situated at the rear of the construction site.

It is the same route the killer issued to get away. Two of the passports, Belizean and Mexican documents belong to the murder victim, Wilhelm Braun while the other Belizean passport is the property of Susana Daniels believed to be the victim’s common law wife who was at the site at the time of the murder.

Corozal police are now trying to lift fingerprints from off all three documents and if successful they say it may provide them with an identification of their suspects. Police say because nothing was stolen from Wilhelm Braun they do not believe robbery was the motive but have been investigating reports that drugs may be involved.
