Belizean bus driver Samuel August is being held in Chetumal after knocking down two Mexicans and killing one of them. Best reports say it happened yesterday, when Mexican reports say he was driving a Blue Bird Bus on the highway between Chetumal and eskar-cega.
August allegedly hit Mario Javier Aguilar-Chan Kwah-Témoc Hidalgo-Miranda who were on a black Yamaha motorcycle. Both were injured and Aguilar Chan died later on. Mexican authorities say August made a left turn without yielding and is to blame for the collision. The accident caused the death of Mr. Aguilar-Chan and injuries to Mr. Hidalgo-Miranda.
He appears in court tomorrow where he will be charged for manslaughter by negligence and for injuries by negligence. Our contacts say the charges are not considered serious so it is expected that he will be able to get bail.
