There were two notable accidents in the city on New Year’s morning. Both happened at around 6:00 in the morning. The first happened near the Northern Highway’s entrance to the city, where a taxi failed to stop near the pedestrian cross walk and slammed into the back of a bus. But more than just hit the bus, the car slid underneath the bus.

The driver and the passenger were injured but not fatally and the bus had to be hoisted up with a jack to remove the car from beneath it.

The other accident happened earlier that morning a few miles up the road near Palm Island nightclub. A Toyota Camry collided into an Isuzu Rodeo causing the rode to roll over several times. It appears that the Camry roared out of a parking spot near Palm Island, hit the Rodeo on its fender and caused it to flip over.

But there’s more to the story than just a collision. The Camry

is for Elvis Baldizon – except he wasn’t driving at the time. He had been at the club earlier that morning when he locked his keys in his car. He couldn’t get them out and left the car. When he returned for it around 8:30 – he saw his car at the center of a major collision. He told us of his surprise.

Elvis Baldizon, Owner of Camry
“I left my vehicle parked beside the wall and then I left my keys inside so I decided to go because I could do nothing about it and then I said I was going to come back. So I came back this morning because I had no one to bring me yesterday and this is what I found, my vehicle is so crashed.

As far as I heard that someone just tried to steal the car properly because like they said the car came out from somewhere and as far as I am concerned, I know I left the car parked to the side of the road.”

Jules Vasquez,
So what was your reaction when you came this morning, you expected to find your vehicle parked in the parking lot and you see it on the road wrecked?

Elvis Baldizon
“Yeah it’s so, I just don’t know what to say; it is so crashed.”

Despite numerous requests from us, the police press office has been unable to supply any details of who will be charged for either accident.
