It is a New Year and synonymous with the New Year are those pesky New Year resolutions which are usually easy to make but hard to keep. Whether it is to lose weight, buy your dream home, or get better grades in school – we all make resolutions and on Wednesday – Keith Swift hit the Albert’s to find out what promises Belizeans are making to themselves this year.
Woman #1,
“My New Year’s resolution is that I hope and pray that all the ghetto youths out there would come together and stop the violence because it is just crazy and let all family members come together, all friends, all relatives and each person just pray and hope that 2009 is going to be fine because 2009 is going to be mine.”
Woman #2,
“I want to win the LOTTO, build a house for myself, my children, and

my grandchildren.”
Keith Swift,
What is going to be your New Year’s resolution?
Man #1,
“I noh got that yet…stay out of the police hands.”
Woman #3,
“My New Year’s resolution is to just make things better for me and my kids.”
Carol Babb,
“My personal resolution is to try to ensure that more children have access to schools and have access to quality education and I want to do my best to ensure that we get our children to read more and to stay in school.”
Woman #4,
“My New Year’s resolution is to get well and feel good. I can’t walk right now because I fell and broke my leg.”
Grandmaster,
“I resolve to nuh mek no resolution, just find a solution to this madness, that’s all.”
And that’s it for this first newscast of 2009.
