Five people were shot in two separate shootings on Friday night. The first gunshot rang out around 7 pm. 17 year old Justine Roches told police he was hanging out in a house on Louise Street in the Junesville area of Lake Independence when two young men known to him as 20 year old Kenroy Humes and 21 year old Kareem Smith went inside the house, pulled him out, and pistol whipped him. He claims Smith then opened fire at close range. Roaches was hit in the right side of his abdomen and the bullet exited the right side of his lower back.

In the second shooting four people were injured. The men were movers and after finishing a job on Curl Thompson Street they were in the company car when a dark skinned man approached and opened fire on the vehicle. 15 shots were fired and when it was over 19 year old Enrique Alvarez had been hit in the right lower foot, 20 year old Glenford Myvett in his left upper leg, 42 year old Edmond Castillo under his chin, and Barney Cunningham to the left side of his bed. Police say the shooting was random and are asking for the public’s help in apprehending the shooter.
