Exactly one week after thirty five year old Pedro Arturo Romero was chopped to death in his village of Valley of Peace today Belmopan Police have arrested and charged the killer. He has been identified as Edel Rios. According to the case’s lead investigator Sergeant Solomon Westby on the night of December thirtieth they responded to a report of a break in at the Romero’s residence. When police arrived at the location they found Romero’s lifeless body. According to Sergeant Westby after Edel Rios was taken into custody and questioned he confessed to the murder.

“Edel Rios was apprehended in the area. We did an investigation which led to his arrest. The investigation, the evidence is telling us that he was the one seen together having an argument with Arturo and that is the reason we got him and he confessed also and that is the reason we have arrested and charged him.”

So he has confessed to the killing?

“Yes he has.”

And the motive was due to this argument?
Sgt. Solomon Westby,
“We believe they were socializing before drinking liquor together and I believe based on that an argument ensued and that is what occurred.”
Pedro Arturo Romero a Salvadoran naturalized Belizean had several chop wounds to the neck, right side of the cheek, right upper back and arm.
