He couldn’t pay his tab at the bar room or the court room and that is why tonight 21 year old Derrick Kuylen is in jail tonight. His legal problems started on Christmas Day when the Manager of the Palm Island Restaurant and Bar told police that Kuylen and his friends ran up a tab of $395. The problem is that when it came time to pay Kuylen couldn’t and left the bar without paying.
Palm Island’s Manager Adrian Torres reported the matter to police and over the weekend they apprehended Kuylen who is an electrician at the airport. He was today charged for obtaining property by deception. He pleaded not guilty and Magistrate Roberto Ordonez granted Kuylen bail of $4,000 plus two sureties of $2,000 but he was unable to do it and he was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until his next court date.
