Everyone said the fire on Footie Gongora’s house was set, but tonight, the Fire Department has no evidence confirming that. Fire Station Supervisor Kenneth Mortis says that his team has heard many rumours that the home was torched, but so far no concrete evidence has turned up. But it is still early. Mortis told us his team was out at the scene today, but up to this evening had not returned with their findings. At this time, the Fire Department cannot say what caused the fire.
As we reported last night, the home Gongora lived in was destroyed by fire around noon. No one was at home because Gongora had moved out some weeks earlier bowing to pressure form the fresh pond community who had fingered him as being at the center of a string of burglaries that affected over 20 homes.
The Fire Department says their investigations shows that it was a government owned home. Area Representative Edmund Castro who has had major politically – based disputes with Gongora today told us that Footie never paid for the home.
