A security guard was beaten and tied up during another daring burglary last night. The target was Enrique Martinez and sons at mile 2 on the Northern Highway. That is where triple a security guard Jean Ovelt Choune told police that around 10 pm – he was accosted by four men on the compound. It is believed the men entered the compound by scaling the fence. It’s not an easy feat since there is barbed wire around the perimeter.
Choune says he was struck in the forehead and the back of his head. The wounded security guard was then blindfolded and his hands and feet were tied. For good measure – they searched him and stole one hundred dollars in cash he had on him and his cell phone.
The suspects then went to work. An employee at the store told us that the robbers gained entry by chiselling a hole into the rear of the building – near a bathroom. It was a small hole but it was big enough for at least one of the burglars to slip through. We are told the suspect searched at least two offices and left with about $1,080. They then fled.
Two hours later, the security managed to free himself and called his boss who called police. Only the cash was stolen from the store. The damage to the building is estimated to be $3,000.
