Earlier we told you about the killing last night in Belize City. But hours before 16 year old Shariff Smith was killed – there was a shooting on West Canal – just a block across from out studios. One woman who says police came into her yard with guns blazing told us her story off camera.

“I was on a car behind my house sitting down just on the car talking because I was on a three way call and all of a sudden I heard shots bust. The police were cursing up like he didn’t have any manners. Children were at the back there, I was there sitting down, woman and man were moving about back there and he was just busting up the shots.”

Who was busting up the shots, the police?
Woman,
“The police. I would want to know his name and point him out to the corporal or the sergeant who were in charge but he didn’t do anything about it.”

Some people were saying that the police were returning fire, that someone was firing at them?
Woman,
“No one bust no shot. The only shot I swear I hear and I saw when I looked around I saw the flames which he bust in the sky. It is the police, I see him.”

“It looks like a 9, not sure because it was a black thing, something he could hold in his hand.”
