He faced the singular embarrassment of failing so badly at an armed robbery that when confronted by a gun wielding proprietor at Waver Pharmacy, he dropped his empty 9 millimeter pistol and ran from the place he was trying to rob, leaving behind his bicycle. And today, after police finally caught up with thirty three year old David White he was arraigned in court.
White was charged with attempted robbery and keeping a firearm without a gun license when he appeared today in the #6 Magistrate’s Court. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate Sharon Fraser explained to him that the court cannot offer him bail because of the nature of the offences. She remanded him into custody until July 20th.
When White was apprehended by the police on Wednesday June 17th, he told police that his name was Mark Mejia so he was charged with a mischievous act. He pleaded guilty to that charge today in the #4 Magistrate’s Court. Magistrate Aretha Ford fined him $100 and gave him until July 20th to pay. If he defaults on payment he will serve 1 month.
