28 year old and 25 year old Daniel Anderson, charged with 2 counts of murder, were freed of charges today in court. The crown council entered a nolle pros indicating that the prosecution could not proceed. The nolle pros was entered because the chief witness, Jaime Chavarria, could not be located.
The men had been charged with the murder of 32 year old Dorian Michael and 24 year old Keira Leslie who were both shot and killed on March 25th, 2007 near Haulover Creek at mile 5 on the Northern Highway. Chavarria was jointly charged with the other two men, but was freed of charges in exchange for testifying against his accomplices. Michael and Leslie were at a gas station on Freetown Road when they were kidnapped and taken into Michael’s maroon van to the execution site.
