40 year old Clarence Richards says he was brutalized by police over the weekend. Richards says he was asleep in his home on Mayflower Street on Saturday morning when a team of officers banged on his door and then forced themselves in.

Clarence Richards,
“They break down my door and came in asking for Marlon. I told them I don’t know who name Marlon, Marlon don’t live here. He asked me to see my ID, I gave it to him and he continued asking me for Marlon. He knows who he is looking for, he says Marlon is a red guy. I looked and told him I

am black, I can’t be Marlon and he had my ID in his hand. He stretched over my common-law wife and gun but me in my face and he continued asking me for Marlon. I told him I don’t know who is Marlon.”

Keith Swift,
“Do you know who is Marlon?”

Clarence Richards,
“No I don’t know him none at all. I don’t know him because I just moved into the house and they said the guy used to live there. I told them I don’t know nothing about that because I just moved in.”

Keith Swift,
“So what are your injuries?”

Clarence Richards,
“Bust to my face, I got twelve stitch right here and I they had no kind of reason to do me that and they just left me there. They didn’t give me name or badge number or nothing. I asked the officer who was with him, I said officer you see what this man did to me. He said he didn’t see nothing and he left it like that but I can’t left it so because we depend on the policeman to protect we. They come way into fu we home to do we things like this. Who will we got to depend on? They will just make we retaliate against them and I nuh deh pan that, I want justice out of this.”

A report has been filed with internal affairs but Richards says police have refused to take a criminal complaint.
