A man was found murdered in Belize City this morning. The victim is 23 year old Albert Allen and his murder may have been in retaliation for a murder two to three years ago. I spoke to the Police Press Officer and Allen’s aunt.

“I can say the body was in a gruesome state and of course it had multiple cut wounds to numerous parts of the body, also there was a gunshot wound to the back.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
“How did police make this discovery?”
Clement Palacio,
“Police were on the beat in the area of Jane Usher Boulevard when they intercepted a vehicle. The police conducted a search and they found two young men. One Warren Lewis, 18, of a Ladyville address and also his passenger Cordel Flowers. Police conducted a search in the vehicle and also found a 380 pistol. They were questioned and of course this led them to the three and a half mile area on the Western Highway where the body was discovered.”

“I mean I see a stick in his throat. I see his neck like cut, I see lot of holes on him, blood. I don’t know.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
“And I also heard he was shot in the back.”
Yolanda Allen,
“Exactly. He got shot yes cause I went to watch him. I don’t know, it really looked like somebody really really hate him who got to him.
Somebody really hated him.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
“And he was in your company just last night.”
Yolanda Allen,
“Just last night. I left him right there. He came, knocked on the door, and said auntie good night. I said good night babes and I asked what gaan on, what happened. He said no auntie, everyday is cool. I told him I didn’t make no tea yet but I will go and buy a bread right now; don’t sit down and go yet. I got my money and went to buy and I left him playing with the two puppies. I went and buy the bread and came back and fried the egg and gave him.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
“But although he looked okay, your instinct told you that something was not right.”
Yolanda Allen,
“But I still wasn’t studying it. I still didn’t paying it any mind but I know he is not the person like when he usually comes when he usually comes he usually smiles and last night he wasn’t smiling. You see it inside his face that it was something on he just couldn’t say it.
Even at the door when he was leaving, he stood up right there and first he peed and then I watched him and I even stayed at the door to watch him because I don’t trust nobody with them because I know people are after them like shark. I already know that people don’t like them not at all and I don’t know for what.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
“So do you believe that after Albert left your home he was kidnapped and then taken up to mile 3?”
Yolanda Allen,
“One of my friends, one of my daughter’s friend told me that he was with his girlfriend at eight o’clock this morning. She came to my house this evening and she told me that Alberto was with my boyfriend at eight this morning. It wasn’t last night, it was this morning. I asked if she was sure because the way they talked it was like something which happened last night. She said no, Berto was with my boyfriend this morning at 8 o’clock.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
“Word on the street is that it may have been a revenge because he was allegedly involved in a murder.”
Yolanda Allen,
“It is a revenge because my nephew came and told me that he had beef with people and I know he had a beef with his old boss because the next one died from the old past. The next one died from the old past and he told me he had a misunderstanding with certain persons and I asked him what it was but he didn’t give me all the information. I don’t understand because it is not everything they tell me but sometimes I try to take everything but they don’t understand. I am just like their mother. They come around me and when they come around me I feel the love of them. I feel like I am the parents of them.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
“But do you believe he would have gotten into the car with a stranger?”
Yolanda Allen,
“It seems like he doesn’t trust nobody. He does not trust nobody.”
Jacqueline Godwin,
“So you believe he was forcibly taken into this vehicle.”
Yolanda Allen,
“The way how this gone on, it looks like somebody forced him into a vehicle. It looks like something forced because the friend that he come here with, that is the only one he trusted and for sure if it not one of those boys, it had to be that somebody forced him into something.”
Clement Palacio,
“They will face charges, I don’t want to speculate as to what charges they will face but by tomorrow they are definitely going to face charges.”
Yolanda Allen,
“Whosoever they caught, I wish they would be the same way destroyed like how my nephew is. I wish they could be in the position which they left him in because they put a stuck in his mouth. What is wrong with those people out there? I am ready to take anything for my people right now. I don’t even care. I am ready to dead. I am ready to prison or anything. The way how my nephew get it, it is cold.”
Albert Allen’s relative killed two to three years ago was Alfred Allen.
