Mark Godoy Charged for Burglarizing Education Office

He says he is a mason but tonight 25 year old Mark Godoy Jr. is in jail accused of burglary. He was today charged with stealing more than $16,000 worth of office equipment from the Belize District Education Center. The break-in occurred early Sunday morning. Godoy pled not guilty in court this morning. He claims he was returning from a party and was picked up by police who took him to the crime scene and then beat him. He was offered bail of $5,000 but he couldn’t meet it and so he was remanded to prison. His case was adjourned to September 28th.
