18 year old Glen Burgess was today charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated assault for allegedly trying to kill 25 year old Kaylon Matura.

Matura told police that on Tuesday at 12:30 he was standing in his sister’s yard on Arlington Drive when Burgess approached him and pulled out a.38 revolver and fired a shot. The shot missed and Matura scurried into his sister’s house. Burgess then allegedly followed Matura into the house and fired another shot. Matura is lucky to be alive because the gun misfired. Burgess then fled the scene but was later arrested.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges today in Magistrate’s Court. Bail was automatically denied and he was remanded to prison until January 5th of 2010. We should note that this isn’t the first attempt on Kaylon Matura’s life. According to our archives in 2007 he was shot in January and later that year he was charged for attempted murder in an unrelated incident.
