And while the swiftness of that charge was un-expected, the afternoon brought another surprise as two other police men were charged for a killing that happened in February. That's when 41 year old O'Neil Jones - a Jamaican national was killed in Lord's Bank. Police say Jones had a homemade weapon resembling a gun while multiple eyewitnesses say he they shot him in the back as he was riding off. The case has been floating for three months - but yesterday decisive action was taken as 33 year old Corporal Jorge Lemus and 27 year old Constable Lazaro Cach were charged.

Lemus was charged with manslaughter while Cach was charged with abetment to manslaughter. They were both represented by attorney Dickie Bradley. No plea was taken and they were released on bails of five thousand dollars each and their case adjourned until June 11.

Now, with this rash of charges against police, it is left to be seen if the Sergeant who shot constable Gavin Sanchez 9 times will be charged. Multiple unconfirmed reports suggest that he has left the country and returned to his home in Salvador.
