Found Harbouring An Escapee

Two men and a woman who allegedly kept Jose Melgar at a house in Hattieville were charged with harbouring a criminal when they appeared in Magistrate's Court today.

They are 30 year old Robert Mejia, 23 year old Meselina Usher and 44 year old Darnell Lemott. They pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Mejia at whose house Melgar was allegedly found, admitted that Melgar was at his house but said that Melgar was there to ask for food. Police found Melgar at their house at mile 16 on the western highway on Sunday evening at 6:50.

They were each offered a bail of two thousand dollars.

So Melgar is back in custody leaving only Dennis Quilter still at large. The last time he escaped, Quilter got all the way to the USA.
