Our next story is about the two most expensive little weed plants we've ever heard about! A fine of ten thousand dollars was imposed on twenty year old Edwardo Guillen, a construction worker, when he pleaded guilty to cultivation of two cannabis plants, each of them six centimeters, today in the # 6 Magistrate's Court. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers, who imposed the fine, explained to Guillen that the offence carries the same penalty as drug trafficking.

She gave Guillen until June 30 to pay. If he defaults on payment he will serve three years. Guillen's mother, forty six year old Maria Granados, was also charged with the offence. But the charge against her was withdrawn after Guillen's guilty plea was accepted.

Police found the cannabis plants when they searched Guillen's house at 29 East Canal Street around 4:30p.m yesterday. The plants were in a metal pan on a shelf in Guillen's bedroom.
