Yesterday The Immigration Department and the Police carried out a joint operation in the Toledo District where they detained 51 immigrants including Honduran, Guatemalan and Salvadoran nationals.

The police handed them over to the immigration and so far we learnt that some of those detained will be released because they have documents, while others will be deported and the remainder will be charged.

The operations were carried out in the villages of Jalacte, Pueblo Viejo, Santa Elena, Santa Cruz and Mafredi.
