The murder of 47 year old Calros Espat in his apartment was one of the most sensational killings of 2010 - but the family didn't make a great public outcry and passed without much comment.
We concluded it had become a cold case which would not be solved, but police have this evening announced that one man has been arrested. He is 22 year old Nicaraguan SYLVIO ESPINOZA, of 5657 Gentle Avenue.
He has been charged for murder and is expected to be arraigned tomorrow. Nothing is known about the motive tonight, but at the time, no forced entry was apparent and there were no outward signs of a burglary.
The elder brother of Albert Area Representative Mark Espat was found dead in his bathtub on the morning of Saturday, September fourth.
A post mortem examination established the cause of death as "Broncho Aspiration due to head and chest injuries due to blunt trauma".
