A female special constable assigned to secure the holding cell at the queen street police station has been accused of stealing form one of the detainees!

Thirty five year old Andrea Rivero was charged with the theft of a Blackberry cell phone from a detained woman, when she appeared today in the #5 Magistrate's Court.

Rivero pleaded not guilty, and was offered and met bail of Four Thousand dollars. Her case was adjourned until April 21st.

It allegedly happened on Wednesday, March 16th at the cell block located at the Queen Street Police station. Julissa Westby, who was detained by the Police reported that while she was in the cell block, her Blackberry cell phone valued at Nine hundred dollars was stolen. Police investigation led to the arrest of Rivero who was working at the cell block at the time.
