Last month we reported on the case of an Orange Walk woman who was stabbed and critically wounded by her husband of 15 years. The incident occurred on November 16th. Martha Alicia Wagner was walking with a friend on Rio Hondo Street in Orange Walk Town, when she was attacked by her husband Felipe Wagner and stabbed twice - once in the chest and once in the back.
She was hospitalized and listed in a critical condition at the KHMH and from what we understand, though she has been released her condition is still serious.
Reportedly, the stabbing incident was a product of a jealous rage and Felipe Wagner - her husband- was arrested and charged with attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm.
Tomorrow he is to reappear in court once again and Martha Wagner family says they fear for the worst - that he might get bail and come back to kill her. Today we traveled to Orange Walk where we spoke to her daughter - who told us they are being threatened by Felipe Wagner.

"She has difficulty in her breathing due to the injuries that her husband made to her. She received two stab wounds; one at the rib chest and one at the back. This case has been something of domestic violence where the incident had occurred years ago. I would like to call attention to the authorities to please make something out of this case because this person Mr. Felipe Wagner threatened her that he will would finish with her, he meant to kill her, that he will return back to finish the job that he started."
"This was pre-meditated, intent to murder because I have been living with my mother for the past three months and I have notice different situations going on at her home with that same specific weapon that he had used for this incident."

"The day of the incident. Your mother was where when it happened?"

"She was making some errands for a fence that had just been installed that day. He had just return from the US; he went out a couple of times. When he went out the first time he went to purchase some stuff and he return. He went out again to look for my mom, he return for the weapon at home, he went out and 15 minutes later he came back, I was present where I saw the knife filled with blood and I start to pursue him, he threatened me that he would do the same as he did to my mother."

"You mentioned to me that your mother has been married to Mr. Wagner for the last 15 years and throughout that 15 years she went through a series of abuse. Is that right?"

"Yes, the first years of the relationship, he broke one of her arms where she had to have it stapled. She went through difficult times where he would constantly be harassing her on the street, constantly harassing her in front of myself and other family members. It came to the point that she would just keep things to her due to the authorities wouldn't do their job in making the situation go through court and stuff. The authorities would get compensation to throw off some cases."

"Are you guys scared that he might be given bail?"
Jade Trapp
"Yes, absolutely, the entire family is at risk if he is being granted bail due to that he threatened that he would return to kill her. So I am asking the authorities to please make something due to this case because there are kids involve that lives with us. We don't know how to defend ourselves if this man returns to our home. Please just make justice be done in this case."
"The officer is here, I cannot call name due to it will be very compromising to myself, but I had to make various investigations where I have found out where is location was exactly; if he was being held at the prison. Three weeks after my mother is still in the KHMH. I have found out through other sources about his location that he is being held here at the prison. Why would he even be given those privileges when other murderers out here are not given those privileges?"
"If he is granted bail we are so afraid that he will return for us. If he didn't have any remorse to stab my mother, then he would have any remorse to finish with the entire family."

"You guys are threatened even though he is in jail?"
Jade Trapp
"Yes through his friends and his family members also. We are asking the authorities to do something in this case. I don't want to be in a situation where I don't have my mother anymore. We only have one mother and we should take care of her, so please I ask the authorities to do something. If the justice was not made here in Orange Walk where officers did not do their job and just applying to Belize City because this is going to the Supreme Court and I believe that other women go through the same stuff that I am going through in fearing to speak out with situations that they are facing."
And while we cannot speak to Felipe Wagner, for balance, we note that police had said they didn't initially send him to prison initially because someone put a hit on his life.
The couple shares one child together. Felipe Wagner will be appearing in Court tomorrow. We'll have an update on the case in tomorrow's newscast.
