Last week, we told you about 21 year-old Kenworth Castro who was being accused by his girlfriend of abusive behavior in which he forced her to swallow a live round of nine millimeter ammunition. Well tonight, he's at the Belize Central Prison after being taken to court today.
He was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith on the charges of attempted murder, wounding and aggravated assault. Due to the nature of the offenses, he was remanded into custody until September 2.
As we told you, the incident occurred on June 12 in Maskall village. The allegation is that Castro put one 9 millimeter bullet in the mouth of his girlfriend, 19 year old Shanice Banner and she swallowed it because she feared that he was going to use it to kill her. She has been told that the bullet is lodged in her stomach and that it will come out without causing any harm to her.
