Today, the man accused of killing 29 year old Bangladeshi businessman Abdush Salam was taken to court. He is 23 year old Juan Choc, a construction worker of Baymen Avenue who is originally from Jordan Village, in the Toledo District. Today in court, no plea was taken, and Choc was remanded into custody until September 19.
On the night of July 1st, Salam was found dead in his Orange Street home. He was lying nude on his bed with his face down and his hands tied behind his back with a belt. His bed was collapsed in the center. Police concluded that someone gained entry to the apartment - or was let in, and manually strangled Salam. There were no signs of forced entry at the apartment - so the killer is believe dot have been invited in. Salam was known to have regular male visitors.
