1 year ago, it made major news when Abdush Salam, a Bangladeshi business man who had his store near the Novelo's Bus Terminal, was found dead in his bedroom. He was discovered nude and bound, and a few days later, a post-mortem confirmed that he died from manual strangulation.

About 2 weeks after that, the cops charged 23 year-old Juan Coc, a native of the Toledo District, with Salam's murder.

But, today, Coc was taken back before Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer, and that's when the court was informed that DPP Cheryl-Lynn Vidal had given police instructions to reduce the charge Coc to manslaughter. As a result, the Chief Magistrate offered him bail of $6,000, and adjourned his case until July 30.
