Police have charged two men and a minor for last week's lawless attack on 60 year old American Cliff Kirk. The US Army Veteran who had retired in Belize was accosted at his remote home, CASA Las Brisas, ten and a half miles north of San Pedro town.

"During the weekend police arrested and charged three persons in connection to this incident. During the investigation, several persons were detained, however, out of the eight persons that were detained, three were arrested and charged - two adults and a minor: The two adults that were charged are Nigel Williams, he is a 25 year old Belizean fisherman of San Mateo area, and we have Christian Espat, 22 years Belizean of the San Pedrito area, and a minor. They were charged for robbery, attempted murder, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, use of deadly means of harm and deadly means of harm. The condition of Mr. Cliff, he, he was airlifted to the US and he will be receiving medical treatment in the United States."
