And in the North there was another violent death; this time it's the stabbing of 22-year-old Joaquin Perez - another young man who was called out of his house, leading to his death.

It happened at around 12:45 this afternoon when Perez was called out and ended up chasing a man on a bicycle while wielding a machete.

That's led to the other man jumping off his bike to defend himself which is when Perez was stabbed as many as three times. The other man is believed to have had a knife.

He ran home but collapsed on the threshold. The Head of National Crimes Investigation told us more:

ACP Joseph Myvette

"Sometime shortly after 1 pm. This afternoon orange Walk police were called to the northern regional hospital where they observed one Joaquin Perez 22 years of Royal Palm street Orange Walk town suffering from apparent stab wounds. He later succumbed to those injuries whilst undergoing treatment. What the police know so far is that Perez seemingly was involved in a fight along with two other male persons on the said Royal Palm street and during that process, he was stabbed by one of those persons but he managed to make his way home where he was then transported to the northern regional hospital by family members. The police are out there on the scene and at this point in time, none of those suspects are in custody."

One suspect, who is known to police, is currently being sought in connection to this death investigation.
