But when Orange Walk residents don't observe those safety protocols, the risks are most prominently for law enforcement who have to come in contact with COVID cases. That's what happened on Sunday night when the cops had to break up a christening in Guinea Grass village. 23 persons were detained for Hosting or Attending A Prohibited Social Event.

Yesterday, one of the attendees tested positive for COVID leaving the police in a predicament - as the commissioner told us yesterday in a phone interview:

Voice of: Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Baby shower in Guinea Grass where one of those individuals who were arrested have now tested positive for Covid19. The ministry of health have to look at all of those who were present at that party and they have to be swabbed and probably quarantined. These are the things that continue to put people at risk. It continue to put a strain on the judicial system. It puts a strain on the ministry of health and it puts a strain on the community."
