KTAL 5 news reports that street racing may have been a factor in a crash in Exposition Park that left one person dead and another in critical condition Thursday morning.
It happened at about 12:10 a.m. as the driver of a silver Range Rover, reportedly 42 year old Omar Kenyatta was traveling at a high speed when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a curb and then a palm tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger 22 year old Belizean American, Nigel Myvett seen here being removed from the vehicle was very seriously injured. His family in Belize tells us that he was in LA to join the air force, which eh would have done on Monday the 16th of November. Now, he's in the hospital in a critical condition. His mother is trying to fly to LA to be with him. We'll keep following his progress.
