And while the Unit will continue to operate in some capacity the police personalities related to its most recent controversy at the Port of Belize have gone unpunished for one of its greatest public sins. In fact, it's been nothing but a paid vacation for the officers who got the brunt of the blame in the July 2020 tear gas incident at the Port of Belize.

Those officers were all back at work - in new postings - having faced no real sanction. And Yesterday when we caught up with the Commissioner in the City we asked about their reinstatement. He maintains that they did nothing wrong and says they merely received an order when it was far too late.
