Police are still investigating a fire in Pomona Village that took the life of 45-year-old Vernon Alexander Williams on December 2. That's because, there is still the question of whether it was an accident or a suicide. Today ACP Joseph Myvett said that while they have done the postmortem, they are still unsure of what caused the fire.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB

"A post-mortem was conducted on the body and the findings are that he died from thermal injuries as well as smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is undetermined because of the extent of damages caused by the fire. However, we also learnt that the body was found near a butane gas tank and that he had uttered certain comments to certain people the day in question when the incident occurred."
