Wanted In Salvador, Men Handed Over to INTERPOL

A joint operation conducted today between INTERPOL Belize, the Immigration Department, and the Special Patrol Unit led to the detention of two Salvadoran fugitives. 30-year Daniel Antonio Ayala Galdamez was wanted for Aggravated Homicide and 30-year-old Alexis Wilfredo Rivera Martinez was wanted for aggravated extortion - both crimes committed in El Salvador. They were handed over to INTERPOL Guatemala, who then handed them over to INTERPOL El Salvador. Galdamez was served with an expulsion order, while Martinez was served with an order to leave from the Immigration Department. Both men had been detained at the Belize Central Prison for immigration offenses before they were handed over.
