And the new intake is much needed since officers need all the help they can get, especially while tracking down an alleged murderer. Javier Chuc is still on the run after reportedly stabbing his special needs stepson, and then absconding. Police believe he's still in the country and are hot on his trail. ACP Joseph Myvett told us more.

"It's still an ongoing investigation and he still remains on the run and we are searching for him in relation to the investigation."

"We have followed several active leads over the past few days, however, we have still not be able to catch up with him."

"Is it believed that Chuc may have fled the country?"

"No, not at this time we do not have any information supporting that theory."

"Do you believe he is still within the area?"
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"Not exactly in the area, there were several other parts that we received information that he was sighted in other districts and those were the leads that have been follow so far."
The incident occurred on January 17 and the victim, Walter Gonzalez, succumbed the next day.
