And from Belize City to Dangriga - a shooting was reported in the culture capital. 26-year-old Nyle Vasquez survived an attempt on his life and is now in a stable condition. He was injured in his upper back, and ACP Joseph Myvett explained how the incident unfolded.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"What police learnt is that Nyle Vasquez was in the Lakeland area of Dangriga Town, shortly before 6pm where he was in discussion with someone who owed him some money, and as a result an argument ensued between himself and that person whilst he was still sitting in his vehicle. As a result he was shot by a second person who arrived on the scene. So in relation to this investigation police is seeking two persons."
Vasquez was arrested two times in 2018 - once for a non-fatal shooting and then later for the murder of Melvin Locke.
