Earlier in the news we told you about a police officer that was arrested for manslaughter, but he was not the only one facing a judge.
PC Edgar Teul was charged after he sexually assaulted a 19-year-old in the Succotz Police Station last week Monday. And if his name sounds familiar, it's because he was the same officer who was detained and questioned after a cache of weapons were stolen from the station in late November, 2020. ACP Myvett told us more.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"On the 18th of January a 19-year-old woman reported to police that she had visited the Succotz police station in order to sign bail for her common-law husband who was detained for wounding. As a result during the process she alleges that whilst in the station awaiting to sign the bail, she was sexually assaulted by PC Teul on thee different occasions. As a result an investigation was carried out, where PC Teul was arrested and charged for three counts of sexual assault."
Reporter:
"PC Teul is the same police corporal who was in that department when guns went missing from it, correct?"

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"Yes he is stationed there, actually he lives upstairs, so he was detained as a part of that investigation."
Reporter:
"So now with this second charge against him, is he being looked at internally?"
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"Certainly he was being look at internally from that first report and he has since been interdicted from duty pending the outcome of the second investigation."
