

Last night, we told you 23-year-old Herman Friesen, the farmer of Little Belize Corozal, and 27-year-old Geraldo Lino, an Orange Walk resident.
The cops say that they busted the two of them with wholesale quantities of weed and cocaine at a checkpoint. That led them raid at Friesen's home in Little Belize, where they found more weed and cocaine.
Friesen and Lino were jointly charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another. That's for the drugs found in the vehicle. Friesen was additionally charged with 3 other counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another, for the drugs found at his home, and some of the cocaine that was discovered on his phone case in the truck.
Both men were arraigned today before Magistrate Palmer. She read them the 2 charges related to the weed found in the truck. She also arraigned Friesen on the drug trafficking charge connected to the coke found on his phone case.
Lino accepted guilt for the weed in the truck, while Friesen pleaded guilty for the cocaine on his phone case.
For the 2 drug trafficking charges, Lino was sentenced to pay fines to a total of 3,400 dollars by September 30, 2021. If he defaults on payment, he could spend as much as 11 months in prison. Those 2 charges were withdrawn against Friesen, but for the cocaine on his phone case, he was sentenced to pay $4,500 by September 30th. If he defaults, he will spend 9 months in prison.
Police have not arraigned him as yet on the drugs which they say they found at his Corozal home.
