UDP Wants Alexis Back In Guat

Two days ago, we told you about Government's announcement of key diplomatic assignments - and one of them has triggered a blast of opposition from the UDP.

A release says, quote, "we register utmost concern regarding the reassignment of Ambassador Alexis Rosado from the Republic of Guatemala to the European Union Ambassador Rosado has played an integral role in bilateral relations between Belize and Guatemala Given the circumstances and the vast amount of responsibilities now being bestowed upon him, we are of the firm belief that this will substantially compromise his ability to focus on his duties as a Co-Agent in the (Belize-Guatemala) dispute."

The UDP asks the government to re-consider the reassignment of Ambassador Rosado.
