Only 16 days ago, another terrifying home invasion made the evening news. That's the one that happened in Belmopan at the residence of 32-year-old Nan Cheng, the well-known, well-connected Asian businesswoman who is also known as Lui Nan.

Viewers will remember that surveillance footage which showed Cheng's father, her 8-year-old son, and her baby boy, being terrorized by 3 assailants who broke into their home. One of the men threatened the children with a machete, and as the incident progressed, an assailant was seen holding the toddler as a sort of hostage. who he released after jumping the family's fence.

Since Cheng had given rave reviews to Mayor Bernard Wagner, we asked him about her family's ordeal when we caught up to him at an event this afternoon. Here's what he had to say:

Bernard Wagner - Mayor, Belize City "You could ask Ms. King that I feel for all people and I would never want anything like what that happen to any individuals, any families within Belize. That is very important, we can't allow these types of things to Belize City residence and so, I was very shocked at it. Every crime committed in the city or the country affects all citizens in the country."
