In 2019, a then 8-year-old Anthony Adolphus was in class at Queen Square Primary School when he was disciplined by his teacher. But this form of punishment led to an injury that the minor would live with for the rest of his life. He was reportedly hit in the eye and now, two years later, he still lives with pain and has to wear glasses as he has all but completely lost sight in that eye.
To add insult to his injury, the case against the teacher has all but fallen through. While the case has been adjourned, it is unlikely that the family will get justice because, according to the minor's uncle, the police lost vital pieces of evidence against the teacher. He even said his sister, the child's mother, was advised that the case would be thrown out.
Today his uncle, Joseph Stamp Romero, told us that it is a grave injustice that this teacher would soon be allowed back into the classroom.
The family was unrepresented in court.
