There hasn't been a hospitalisation at the KHMH COVID-19 ICU unit in 8 days. Plus there's no one reported hospitalized for COVID countrywide.
And that's why Belize's national referral hospital, the K.H.M.H. is reporting changes to visiting hours and downsizing the unit for the time being.
It's the most obvious indication to date of the progressive flattening of Belize's COVID curve, a reality that's also reflected tonight in the Ministry of Health and Wellness report on COVID numbers which likewise contains no hospitalizations, and no one in the ICU unit, plus no new deaths, and only 6 newly confirmed cases.
Here's a bit more detail from Information Officer Claudette Dakers Noralez.
The K.H.M.H. has also indicated that it's been able to vaccinate 500 members of its 680 member staff, that's 78% hospital-wide anti-viral coverage against COVID-19.
