And while Minister Marin was happy to speak about their recent trip to Corozal, he wasn't very open about the reported sale of a trio of guns by the Ministry of Finance.

Reports to our newsroom are that the sale of a 9mm pistol from the police's armoury was approved for $600, while another was sold for $500. A rifle was also reportedly sold for $1,200. Two of these weapons were allegedly sold to persons in the Briceno Administration, and all three were approved on February 24th.

Today, when the Minister was questioned about it, he directed those questions to the Ministry of Finance.

Hon. Florencio Marin - Minister of Defense "While we are the custodians of those things, those are done through the office of the Ministry of Finance. I think the question better directed there may for national security reasons, prefer not to say anything on it."

Reporter "Sir but as the minister responsible for these assets, wouldn't you have been informed prior to the sale?"

Hon. Florencio Marin "Again, I won't comment on those details."

Reporter "By any chance do you have any details on a whole on the aircrafts, they were listed as unserviceable but what we have also seen in the commission of inquiry, most of the vehicles that were listed as unserviceable were in fact in good condition."

Hon. Florencio Marin "Again, I'm not commenting on our national security issues, so that is a totally different kettle of fish you know."
