It was a Sunday night shocker for Amber Grenado and her three children when police stormed their tiny apartment.

They'd shot up one of the landlord's guard dogs on their way in, moving with brash violence through the yard.

They were there to search for guns and ammunition but paid the young mother no heed when she begged them to put down their guns claiming that the intrusion was traumatizing her children.

But Amber isn't taking the incident lying down and this evening she told our news team that unless something changes she won't be the last parent to face an unwanted and unwarranted intrusion.

Mejia says she attempted to file a police report on the incident but she was rebuffed.
