A motorcycle theft occurred on Wednesday morning around 3:00 here in Belize City. And while this incident may not seem particularly unique – apart from it being committed during curfew hours – the victim was Alex Sanker, an artist who played the role of vigilante a few months ago to save a vendor who was being robbed.
But now his own motorcycle was stolen from his home by a suspect he knows. And while he says he'll see this case through to the courts, he believes the incident happened so that he could continue to speak out against the societal plague of thievery.
Courtney Menzies found Sanker at his usual display spot downtown and spoke with him about the theft and what it taught him
Sanker encouraged communities to come together and form neighbourhood watches to prevent similar crimes from happening.
