And while Gordon lost his life, another man 63- year-old Preston White was held at two gunpoint on his own verandah, before being locked in his home and bound by duct tape.

It happened on Friday night, just before 8:00 when White started noticing suspicious movements by two men near his yard. He only took his eyes off of them for a moment and that's when the first, followed immediately after by the second, ran up his steps and put a gun to his head.

They ransacked his house and stole what they could before jumping out of the building's side door for a quick escape.

White was forced to wiggle his way to the side of a table where he managed to remove the corner of his gag and scream for help. It's a terrifying and visceral tale of domestic terror and elder abuse, one that Superintendent Hilberto Romero did little justice to when he provided details this morning.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero - Head NCIB

"On Friday the 14th day of May 2021 police responded to an aggravated burglary report at number 20 Cesar Ridge Road. Upon the arrival they spoke to Preston White 63 years to report that he was on his verandah when he was approached by a male person who pulled out a firearm and took him inside his house, thereafter a second male person came in and he was tied up and they stole his cellular phone and they ransacked the house looking for other items. After that both male persons fled from the area."

White was ultimately rescued when a neighbor's child heard his screams and alerted her parents to his plight.
