And while the PSU wasn't a part of today's protest, they're still on strike. And even though the Prime Minister signed a letter which indicated that after Friday, salaries for those on strike would be docked, that isn't deterring the public officers. In fact, they're nowhere near yielding since, according to the president, they're rejecting the last offer from the government. Here's what he said in a statement to members today:

Gerald Henry, PSU President

"In response to the motion with subject letter of government's undertakings signed by the prime minister of Belize and directed at the joint unions of the Public Service Union of Belize, The Belize National Teacher's Union and the Association of Public Sector Senior Managers, the mandate has been given for the Public Service Union of Belize to remain fully committed to continuing with industrial actions. As a result of this the PSU hereby informs all members and public officers in general that we remain on strike. Each and every public officer has the lawful right to take such industrial actions. Making this small sacrifice is better than being forced to give up a minimum of 10% of your salary and 3 increments for the rest of your career without getting anything in return. I call on all public officers whether a union member or not to give their full support to the union that has been fighting for you, is fighting for you and will continue to fight for you."
