But while other casinos remain open, bars and clubs are still closed - well, at least they should be. But as we've told you before, there are establishments blatantly advertising themselves as bars rather than restaurants. Is this because there is a lax enforcement of the regulations?
We asked the Minister about this, but he assured us that the police are out in full force.

"We've seen places that are actually bars that are open, maybe they open under the guise of being a restaurant, but when you go in there they are operating as a bar. Will the police have to enforce these rules even more and actually shutdown these places?"
Hon. Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"They have been. Whenever it is that these restaurants are actually no longer serving food and like I said people are getting up and dancing and mingling and that sort of thing, the police officers have been very quick in shutting down the establishment for that night and as a matter of fact taking action in terms of making recommendations to the liquor licensing board to have a particular establishment license revoked in the event of repeated breaches of the regulations, because like you said it is only restaurants that are allowed to operate, not bars. So if it is that the police recognize that a particular establishment is more operating like a bar, then swift action is taken against that establishment."
