But for those public officers at the Belize Tax Service and the Treasury Department who aren't striking, they had a disruptive morning at work after a bomb threat was called in at the Charles Bartlett Hyde building.

As per procedure, the employees were all evacuated from the building and gathered on the sidewalks outside the compound. Police were called in and cordoned off the area. Eventually, the public officers were sent home. As is normally the case, no explosive devices were found inside the building, and requests for information from the police have gone unanswered.
