Another family who is preparing to bury their loved one is 21-year-old Peter Jones Jr.
Jones' last text to his wife around 3:00 last Monday was that he was coming home to her and their 2 week old baby. But he never made it and the day after, burnt remains were found on a farm in Esperanza Village, his home village.
Yesterday, his father, Peter Jones Sr, was able to identify him through the tattoos on his face during the post mortem. And while they had suspected it was him, that didn't take away from the shock and pain they felt once it was confirmed.
We spoke with Jones Sr via phone this evening to get an update on how the family, and especially his daughter in law, is coping.
Peter Jones Sr., Father of Deceased

"It was shocking news. He went missing in the area of Esperanza Village and the body we found we already had a feeling that it was him because no one was missing at the time and it was only him they saw in that area at the time. It was very hard for me and very shocking especially when I witnessed the autopsy and the scraping of the body and saw the tattoos on his face and then I confirmed it was my son. She is doing very bad. She is breaking down every minute due to the baby only have like 2 weeks old and then they recently got married like last year and my son was very loving and to her and the kid. Everything for him was his newborn baby. Right now we are just arranging everything, the funeral and getting everything done to put him to rest, so by Saturday we supposed to have him ready to bury. The fire department they are doing their own fire parade and they will sound the fire engine and stuff. We spoke the boss that he use to work with and they call in and offered to do whatever they could do for Peter as he was working as a fireman in Santa Elena."
"Peter was a nice person. He always use to buy and sell and he use to always come bragging with me and my brother showing us what he bought. I told him to just continue doing the right thing and keep on the right road, because it doesn't pay to get into any problems, but behind, he is a 21 year old and like I say I don't know what else he did and apart when he was not around us, but around us Peter never had any problems like no one and no one around here. Everyone knows him and knows the family me, my brother and my mom/"
Jones had been a volunteer firefighter for six months.
